Is there anyone out there that could help me with the brass-sound in the beginning of Peter Gabriels “Sledgehammer”. A good flute for the solo is also of great interest :-)

Thanks

Re: Peter Gabriel sounds for S90ES

Wasn’t this one of the earlier records to use the Shakuhatchi (sp??) flute sound?

Re: Peter Gabriel sounds for S90ES

darkstar_serbia That link with those old synths is nice & on point, and Willie knows his stuff.

Believe it or not the Proteus 2000 from Emu has lots of those types of sounds.

If you could find sound cards over the Internet for the E-MU Proteus 2000, it could give you up to four different synths with hundreds of sounds in this one module.

If you could find one, the Proteus 2000 doesn’t cost much, and you will get a bang for your buck.

Kridybe the ( Proteus 2000 ) also have nice synth Brass sounds.

Re: Peter Gabriel sounds for S90ES

Attached is the shakuhachi flute solo (using a Rack ES, so should be ok for S90 ES /forums/images/icons/smile.gif alt= )

It consists of various sounds and a PLG 150 VL sound (it’s missing the pitch bend efects as I did generally play this with the bass sounds, and couldn’t physically do the bends...)

I did post this a while back, and I did say I’ll post what sounds I used, but never got round to it.  If anyones interested, I’ll fire up the Rack ES and look into it tonight when I’ve got a little time this time /forums/images/icons/wink.gif alt=
