Re: AXXE voices and Studio drums

It is possible to load the sounds that you want into the Motif… it is not clear from your post which Motif you own… the original, the ES or the XS. But you can load and combine sounds from different libraries… the easiest way would be with the help of the computer Editor.

The STUDIO Drum Library contain RAM samples, which are volatile (the wave data will disappear from RAM when you power down). So any sample Library will need to be reloaded if you turn the unit off… but you can customize you instruments boot up so that it loads automatically.

What you want to do is assemble the sounds into the unit at the same time, then create an AUTO LOAD file that you can “teach” your keyboard to load each time you power up.

Let us know which Motif you own and we can help you assemble the data.

In general you would load the Studio Drums library first since it contains RAM samples, then you can BULK in the AXXE data using the Studio Manager > Editor for your particular Motif, Motif ES or Motif XS.

Let us know.

Re: AXXE voices and Studio drums

Do you have Studio Manager and the Motif ES Editor (Voice)?

Re: AXXE voices and Studio drums

Load the Studio Drums Library to your Motif XS as normal from your USB drive… using the FILE TYPE = ALL

Use the Motif ES Voice Editor to bulk the AXXE library from the Editor.

Open Studio Manager and launch the Motif ES Editor (Voice)
Use the Motif ES Voice Editor files AXXEES.W7E / AXXEES.W8E
Open the Library
Dave placed the significant Voices in USER 2
Click on the “Transmit Voice Bulk” icon
Select NORMAL USER 2
Transmit the bank of Voices to the Motif ES.

Finally…
Use the File AXXEARP.W7G / AXXEARP.W8G to load the arpeggio data from you USB drive to the Motif ES using the FILE TYPE = USER ARP

Now that you have all the samples, voices and arpeggios assembled in your Motif ES - create a new ALL Data file that is the combination of the two libraries… call it “StudioAx” or something appropriate.

Hope that helps.

Re: AXXE voices and Studio drums

Im thankful, i did what you wrotte and i get it, i have a mix of AXXE and Studio drums, but i lost the samples sounds when i turn off the motif es.

You wrotte this:

The STUDIO Drum Library contain RAM samples, which are volatile (the wave data will disappear from RAM when you power down). So any sample Library will need to be reloaded if you turn the unit off… but you can customize you instruments boot up so that it loads automatically.

What you want to do is assemble the sounds into the unit at the same time, then create an AUTO LOAD file that you can “teach” your keyboard to load each time you power up.

How can i customiza my motif or how can i create AUTO LOAD file.

I turn on the autoload in utility but nothing

Thank you again.

Re: AXXE voices and Studio drums

Page 135 of your Owner’s Manual details how to it works.

Make sure everything in your Motif ES is as you like when you create the AUTOLOAD file:

Press [FILE]
Press [F1] CONFIG
Press [SF1] CURRENT
Set the CURRENT parameter to “CARD” or “USB” (depending on if you are saving to a SmartMedia Card or a USB drive)
Press [F2] SAVE
Set the file TYPE = “ALL”
Move the cursor down between the brackets and set the file Name = “AUTOLOAD”
The file must be literally named “AUTOLOAD”
Press [ENTER] to execute

Next go directly to UTILITY mode to “teach” the Motif ES where your file is found:
Press [UTILITY]
Press [F1] GENERAL
Press [SF4] OTHER
Set the AutoLoad parameter to ON
Press [SF5] GET (this will register the location of the AUTOLOAD.W7A file as the one to look for...)
Very Important: Press [STORE]
This will register your AUTOLOAD and UTILITY mode preference to Flash ROM.

Power OFF and back ON the Motif ES:
The AUTOLOAD All file should load each time you power on the instrument and the CARD or USB Drive is in place.
