I’ve written several sequences using the MO8 sequencer. What I want to do is play along with the sequence using whatever voice I want in realtime.

As soon as the sequence starts, the current voice defaults to the voice of the first track of the sequence.

I know I can go into the sequence, select an unused track, set that track to a particular voice, select that track and play along that way, but that’s not practical.

I can’t seem to figure this out in Pattern or Song mode.

When in Song or Pattern mode the keyboard is routed to whatever track is currently selected. By default when you select a new sequence that’s track 1. 

It’s not that hard to select an unused track, that’s what the 16 buttons on the far right are for /forums/images/icons/wink.gif alt=

I’m doing what you are wanting to do. I just preprogram each sequence so that whatever I want to play live for each song is saved as part of the ‘MIXING’ for that song on track 1.
When each song starts, the preselected instrument is there complete with the volume and effects pre-set and ready to go.
