Receiving warning to change the battery in my Motif Classic 8.
Can’t find anything in the manual as to where the battery is located.

Can someone help me?

Hi,

You’ll see the shiny round face of the battery once you remove the rectangular cover plate on the bottom of your instrument (located near the center and towards the back). The cover is held in place by 6 or 7 Phillips head screws.

PS: Before placing your keyboard upside-down onto a table, prop the end cheeks up with books, pillows, etc. to create good clearance for the wheels, knobs and buttons on the top face.

The battery is a CR2450 (3V) button cell, and should be located near the corner of the bottom opening (roughly underneath the Mode button cluster, I think). It sits in a spring-loaded holder on the main cirquitboard. If you need illustrations, you’ll find them here.

Much appreciated.
I’ve changed keys for years, but never noticed the battery.
