Hi guys, I hope there is still some activity here, seeing the dates on older posts, but I think this is the place where I can get my answers.
My question is this:
I’ve always used a Yamaha S30 to do this, but recently I bought a midi keyboard to use with the MO8 as well as mainstage.
Thnx for your replies. |

It’s not clear (to me) how the MO is set up, nor is your use of certain terminology. Yamaha uses the term “zone” only when in Master mode. Is the Song associated with a Master?
Which Receive Channels are the MO Parts set to?

Thanx for your reaction.
MO8:
Midi keyboard (Novation Impulse 61):
So the term ‘zone’ applies only to the controller, not to the MO in this case. To my best knowledge the controller doesn’t send SysEx, only CC. So the bottom line question is: Is there a way to use a CC toggle command or something to manipulate the MO8 channel to turn off, or mute or something. |

If only CC messages can be sent, then a MIDI Event Processor or computer MIDI Utility could likely be used to remap those messages to filtering of Note-On/Off for specific channels. If you can send SysEx, the following will turn off/on the receiving of MIDI data for a Part.
Receive Channel SysEx message for Multi (Song/Pattern) Part
Examples:
F0 43 10 7F 00 37 01 03 7F F7 turns off Receive Channel for Part 2
F0 43 10 7F 00 37 0A 03 7F F7 turns off Receive Channel for Part 10
F0 43 10 7F 00 37 0F 03 7F F7 turns off Receive Channel for Part 16
