Hey, I’m having a bit of trouble with my Motif Rack XS. I am basically layering parts 1-4 in a multi with a guitar midi pickup. No trouble there. None of these parts has an arp running, with arp sw and arp hold turned off. What I want to do now is control Part 5 on midi channel 5. For this, I have a midi foot controller which I use to transmit the following messages on key press. CC#89 value 127 on midi channel 5 (to turn on arp hold, have checked in utility that this is what arp hold is mapped to) CC#90 value 127 on midi channel 5 (to turn on arp play on channel 5, again, this is what it is mapped to in utility) Note on message 31 with value 127 on Channel 5 (this is essentially playing a midi note on channel 5 using my foot controller) When I step on the switch again, it is basically turning off the arp hold, arp sw and sending a note off message. Now, here’s the problem: whenever I step on the footswitch, the arp does not activate on the said midi channel. What’s worse, the note I am transmitting on a single midi channel is played as a held note across midi channels 1-4. This is despite the fact that I have not transmitted a hold message (CC#64) and none of those 4 channels have arp sw or arp hold enabled. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance. EDIT: Tonight I’ll try sending the note off message immediately after activating the arp sw and hold functions. |

If you could possibly post a screen shot or two of your Multi configuration, that would be awesome. In particular, I need to see what you’ve got for your Global settings, and the RCV/Controller settings on Part 5 assigned to MIDI Channel 5. If you are using the Multi Editor, this should be a simple request. Oh, and if you can confirm that switching your guitar MIDI rig to channel 5 works as expected, that would be good to know also.
Thanks!
