Hello All, Recently, I have been difficulties with my track playback in Cubase 7.54. I’m getting random glitches/dropouts. I’m running Windows 10 (all updates installed), Steinberg ur22 (latest driver installed). I’ve increased/decreased the buffer size; no change. I thought I may have had too many plugin/vst’s going at one time, so I converted my Instrument tracks into audio tracks and then deleted the Instrument tracks. I’m still getting the dropouts. I downloaded the DPC Latency Checker. Usually, they don’t list any issues, but there have been a couple of instances where they suggested disabling some devices. I’ve tried disabling some of them as the LAN, monitor, additional sound card, to no avail. Tried setting the power level on my pc to performance mode also. I’ve done a ton of research but haven’t found anything that works in my situation. Any ideas?
Thanks,
|

Windows 10 is probably your culprit. Your version of Cubase isn’t compatible with that o/s, and many problems were reported. Your best bet is to update to Cubase 8.5 or revert to Windows 7. |

Update! I went back to W8.1 some improvement but not 100%, so I went back to W10 because I like 10’s setup better. Recently, I’ve been experiencing some weird stuff; not sure it has to do with compatibility C7.54 and W10 though. For instance, when I load Real LPC as an Instrument in C7.54, many of the strings will sustain without me using my sustain pedal. When I use Real LPC as a standalone it works fine no issues with sustain. Some instruments have weird overtones such as a couple different instruments within Kontakt. When I use Scarbee Vintage Keys (Rhodes patch) in C7.54, the tone is much different than when I’m using it in standalone. I’m hearing some overtones and it’s a lot more percussive than when I use it as a standalone. When I use Galaxy Vintage D in C7.54, if I keep striking the note A when using my sustain pedal, every 3rd A sounds muted. No issue when in standalone though. These weird things are a recent, or at least I never noticed it before. Again, none of these things are happening when I use these instruments in standalone mode, only within the Cubase environment. Any thoughts? John |
