i want to make a midi file using logic pro 9 that will be loaded to the motif xf and will tell the motif xf a program Change command(Changeing voice) Automatically on pattern mode.i Managed doing that when motif xf is connected to my daw.the problam is that when i a load the midi file to the motif ,the motif does not make a voice change.

Hi dvdv1234, Automation will only ever work inside of Logic. Instead, you will need to draw your program change data into the MIDI controller lane accessible via Hyper Draw in the Piano Roll window if you want to make it transferable. (You’ll see it on a menu with all the other controllers) |

i did what you said on the Hyper Draw in the Piano Roll window and then save the region as a midi file and then uploaded the midi file to my motif xf but when i press play the voice does not change.

Have you tried drawing in Bank Select data as well as Program Change. This way the exact voice from the exact bank will be chosen |

The first line of the display picture you posted is:
Acceptable Bank MSB/LSB are in the XF Data List, Bank Select table on page 127. For now, if you can’t figure out how to get that data from Logic to the XF, you could edit the XF Event List. When the Bank Select is correct, the name of the Voice will replace “Initialized V”. |

problem solved.the problam was with the midi filter on sequenser setup..program change was marked on the midi filter so motif ignor program change.
