Just as an additional bit of information: the MUTEC 2GB board uses the exact same number of memory chips as the original Yamaha 1GB board with the same heat dispersion, it’s just that each chip packs more memory.

After almost two years of permanent use in my MOXF8 I can report that I didn’t experience any single failure of this 2G flashboard. I can confirm that there is no issue at all with overheating, delay or whatsoever. I’m still very happy with this great piece of hardware and I can only recommend it to other Motif/MOXF owners who want to use their memory space in a similar way that I do (see my previous comments in this thread).

And no, I’m not a MUTEC employee - just a satisfied customer! ;-)

I’ll be safe as long as the XF doesn’t morph into a Macbook Pro.

I wouldn’t be worried about heat generation from flash memory chips.
