How do you actually rename a song on the MOXf? I mean one of the 64 on board slots? I an edit and save all the parameters but I cannot find where (or the process) to do this...as I said probs a silly question and it is something really simple I am missing… |

Yep...I thought it was simple (just having a duh!! moment) - thx guys :-) 5pin - I did look at page 22 but in Song mode the F6 option is not available - I DID miss page 46 however! |

??? Page 22 is about inputting characters, initiated by pressing [SF6](CHAR). On page 46 of the PDF, the NOTE under step 2 mentions page 22, and you can click on “page 22” there, which takes you directly to that page. |

Yes I am aware of what is on the page...The input characters obtained by pressing F6 - the F6 is not available in song mode on the MOXf :-) even though it is pictured on that page. Which btw you will note pictures Voice mode! For example - if I am in voice mode - jump to song mode, that F6 button does not appear..you can only get to it by pressing job and then song name as noted above. Anyway jobs right now, so why go on about it? |

The ??? indicated my confusion, since I don’t have a MOXF and was trusting Yamaha’s manual (silly me). Based on what you said, it seems that Yamaha needs to correct the manual. |

Ahhh okay then - I understand. The docs area little confusing, as page 22 does mention song mode, however as I wrote a couple of extra steps are needed. What would make it REALLY easy is if the Yamaha Editor allowed you to edit the names of songs/patterns. But sadly it does not - well not that I could see. And sadly neither does JM’s Mixing editor. For any Song/Pattern naming it has to be done on the MOXf :-( |

I don’t think that the XF Editor allows for naming Songs/Patterns either. Fortunately, though, with the XF if you have an ASCII keyboard connected to the USB TO DEVICE port, all you have to do is select (highlight) the name on the display, and then type on the ASCII keyboard. |

Hi 5pinDin, You’ve mentioned the ASCll quite often. Would this work on the XS as well? |

Yeah if it does, I wonder if BM could chime in to advise if it works on the MOXf as well? |

Yes, from OS version 1.10 and on. See page 5 of this:
Adding a multi-port USB hub allows for the keyboard and one or more flash drives to be connected at the same time. See this for some additional information:

Bad_Mister will probably weigh in on this, but as far as I know the MOXF doesn’t support a USB ASCII keyboard. If not, perhaps it can be added as it was to the XS. |
