I have successfully played back my own midi file from usb after composing in Logic (I still have to edit the banks on the various parts of the s70 and set them up first but that’s ok).

When I apply and record filter sweeps over sounds in Logic, will the filter sweeps play back from my midi file on usb directly inserted into my s70xs?

You’d have to be creating those filter sweeps in some unusual manner for them NOT to be recorded and played by the receiving device.

We assume you are creating the filter sweeps with Control Change messages that you intend to record to the tracks of the sequence. Typically cc074 and cc071 are used for Cutoff (brightness) and Resonance (harmonic content).

If you are documenting them in some kind of DAW automation lane make sure you merge the automation into the Standard MIDI File before exporting the file.
