I plugged my sustain pedal into the sustain pedal input, turned on the s70xs and tried sustain on a piano sound, but it appears to be opperating in reverse, sustaining notes as my foot is removed from the pedal. I also tried plugging in the sustain pedal after the keyboard was turned on but with the same result. Is there a setting in the synth somewhere that can fix this or have I simply got the wrong type of pedal and need to get another one? I’m trying to use a kurzweil sustain pedal that I quite like the feel of.

Except for the polarity ... If you cannot switch the polarity of that pedal, it is incompatible with your Yamaha.

The Yamaha FC3 is the recommended pedal, it is designed for your keyboard and works for the Half Dampering function.

Thankyou again. Looks like I will have to get the Yamaha FC3.
