Yamaha Rack ES When I use the rack ES in multi-mode with Digital Perfomer when the output is set to Motif-1, I have a little bit of reverb. Then channel 2-4 are dry. Channel 4-10, (I think) have some effect like a flanger. I can open up studio manager and do a sync, and then every midi channel from the Motif sounds the same. However, when I shut down, and turn everything back on, the settings go back to what I described above. I don’t want to run a sync every time I turn on my rig. I’ve reset the Motif, but that doesn’t work. I’ve read all through the manual and tried to figure this one out, but I can’t. You need to learn about how things get allocated in MULTI mode, how to assign the Effects as you need them, and it sounds like you need to correct some routing issues within your setup. We can certainly help you with the Motif-Rack ES, and setting it up with its Editors, and making sure you are using it correctly. We can also let you know when the issue can be resolved by a setting in your DAW. (although we don’t know DP we can tell what to look for...) So far you have indicated or have left enough clues to tell us you have a Macintosh, and you have a Motif-Rack ES, with Digital Performer. We are going to assume you have more gear involved, like a keyboard or a set of drum pads, or something to trigger notes on the Rack ES. We also assume you have the Rack ES connected to the computer via USB. And it’s audio connected somewhere ?
We do not know what you are using as your audio interface
Before we can troubleshoot anything those things would be necessary.
When you SYNC the Editor with the hardware - Did you know you can pick the direction that data flows?
