I got a new (used) Rack ES a while back. I’m just now getting to the point where I can start to record, but I’m having some weird problems.

Sometimes, I can’t get the sound out to the Layla, but sometimes I can. Just when I play the demos and go right back into voice mode to record one track, the sound comes through.
BUT - then when I press the Sonar Record button, instead of the volume being up front and fine, it sounds like the Concert Grand is at a low volume far away with a bunch of reverb on it.

I can change to a new instrument and the same thing happens.

I went back the UTILITY to find Midi and no matter how far I page either way, I can’t find the MIDI screen to check Midi In/Out....I know I’ve seen it, but I can’t find any where that tells me to do anything different....

Please - - anyone?

Press [UTILITY]
Use the PAGE [<]/[>] buttons to navigate
The screen to the extreme LEFT is [GENERAL]
The screen to the extreme RIGHT is [JOB]
MIDI is two before you get to JOB.

Thanks - it was late when I posted that, and being pretty tired and wired at the same time, I just wasn’t thinking correctly - - once I saw what you posted, I paid closer attention to the screens -
