Hi. W8x files contain samples, so you won’t be able to load those into the Rack. Voices that only use preset ROM waves are fine of course. If you check out motif.factory at http://www.xfactory-librarians.co.uk this can load Motif keyboard files and transfer them (less samples) to the rack. It also bulk transfers performances and multis as well (something that Studio Manager doesn’t do). |

The File format .W7V/.W8V are ALL VOICE libraries for the Motif ES keyboard. You cannot load these into the Motif-Rack ES, as is. What you can do is load those back into a Motif ES, and save the data in a Motif ES Editor file format.
Load the VOICES to a Motif ES keyboard
This will save the data in a .W7E File format (Motif ES Editor) which can then be opened by the Motif-Rack ES Editor. That is how you get data into the RACK ES - via its EDITOR. The Rack ES Editor will read Motif ES keyboard FILES as long as they are in the EDITOR format. You can SAVE Editor format File Types directly from the ES. If you no longer have the ES, ask someone that does to convert the data for you. Hope that helps. |
