Hi,
Really a very basic question.  I am trying to drive the MOTIF XS from Sonar using a standard midi file.  I’ve read everything I can find on the forum and in the book. 

I am connected using a USB cable.  I can get the Motif to play back the song, but can’t get the MOtif to respond to program changes, and pull up the assigned general midi instrument. 

Is there just a basic “GM” Mode?  Right now, all tracks on Sonar are triggering a piano sound on the XS.

The XS like all Motifs does have a GM bank (located at bank 0 0) and responds to the GM mode message.

Sounds like there is no GM mode message being sent and no program changes either.
