How does it work? It’s odd that I’ve had the motif for about 2 years now and never even noticed that there’s an erase feature while recording a pattern! As of now if there’s something I dont like about the recording I start over and redo the whole thing and I’ve wished that I can loop one sound at a time while playing then overwrite parts, rather than the whole thing, in real time if I have to. Is that what this feature enables me to do? I looked in the manual and could not even see this feature mentioned and could not figure out how to use it on my own… could’ve probably digged deeper but I’m sure I can get a quicker response here! Thanks in advance. |

While in RECORD in PATTERN mode, say you record a hihat groove using F#1, G#1 and A#1… you record it over the Kick and Snare you already have down. And whoops! you make a mistake. Without exiting record, without stopping you can put your right index finger on the [F4] button and hold it down. Take your left hand and hold down F#1, G#1 and A#1… as the note’s position plays by you are clearing out those notes. So you can selectively erase anything you require. All without stopping. If you only want to erase the data in measure 4, you can simply hold down the keys during that measure. To erase the entire hihat part hold them (and the ERASE button) down through one complete cycle. |
