I’ve had a PLG150-DX on my Motif ES for a while.
now, I’ve got the Montage, and it has been amazing lately. I’d like to have the patches that I use on my PLG150-DX, on the Montage. I never succeeded in connecting the PLG150-DX to my PC (especially now when its Win 10). so no way to dump. I scoured the internet for days looking for a .sysex dump of the PLG150DX. where can I find it? please help me, I’m sure its out there! |

There is no such thing. The PLGs have no sysex dump capability. They can only communicate to the editors or save in the Yamaha file format. |

I can’t find some of the patches ANYWHERE.
The patches would be for example, “DUKE EP”, “WINWOOD”, any ideas where are they renamed form? I’ve been looking all over the place, testing many, many libraries and sounds with DEXED. |

I found the PLG150-DX banks in Korg Kronos MOD7 PCG format. Those are EXACTLY the name of the patches I have on my PLG board, “DUKE EP” or “WINWOOD” is a patch which is found only there. If it’s available on the Kronos (See pic - I opened the file in PCG TOOLS), the sysex must be available! Any idea? Image Attachments

I’ll just repeat that none of the PLG boards can send sysex dumps. They simply cannot. How did some Kronos user manage to get the sysex file? Better to locate the source of that Kronos file and ask them. |

Trying to understand my options here… Is it possible to save them as user presets PluginAllBulk 32 or 64 at a time? If so, will it be possible to convert those to sysex? (I’m trying to contact the person who converted it for the Kronos. Apparently he’s offline for the past 1.5 years.) I saw this in past postings: “You can back up PLG150-DX Board Voices in a .w2b (PluginAllBulk file for the slot containing your PLG150-DX) the .w2b file is a bulk file - it a requires that you actually have the DX board voices loaded into bank 035/000 of the PLG150-DX. It is the same data as the .DXC file but it is formatted so you can load it from a SmartMedia card. It is the same data as .DXC for SmartMedia card!!! It allows you to back up your Custom DX data and restore it when no computer connection is available (like at a gig).” |

Last Update: 5/29/2015 You can dump up to 64 voices into the user bank on the DX board. The voices must be saved in bank 35/000. The DX7 can only dump 32 voices at one time. After sending the first 32 voices to the PLG150 DX, load 32 more voices into the DX7 internal memory and send them. A01through B16 will be voices 1-32 C01 through D16 will be voices 32-64 1) Press the [VOICE] button on MOTIF, then press the [PLG1], [PLG2], or [PLG3] button to      select the slot to which the PLG150DX is associated. 2) Press the [UTILITY] button. 3) Press the [F6] button for PLG utilities. 4) Press the [SF3], [SF4], or [SF5] button to which the PLG150DX is associated. NOTE: [SF3]=PLG1, [SF4]=PLG2, and [SF5]=PLG3 5) Make sure that ‘Bulk Block’ says ‘01-32’ for the first set of 32 voices, and ‘33-64’ for the      second set of 32 voices. 6) On the DX7, press [FUNCTION], then press [8], then press [YES] to make ‘System Info      Available’. 7) Press the [8] button so that the display indicates ‘MIDI Transmit’. 8) Press the [YES] button. 9) On MOTIF, press [VOICE]. 10) Press [F2]. 11) Change the bank to 35/000. 12) Press [VOICE]. 13) This first set of voices will be located in A01-B16.
