Viewing topic "How can I use the selected voices (in voice mode) in patterns that I am recording?"

Hi I am new to this forum.  I have a Motif XF8 and love it.  Looking through the 300+ pages of the manual, my head was spinning!!

Very simple, how can I get the selected voices on the voice bank to play in a pattern mode.  I have some awesome sounds that I loaded in my flash drives, which then loaded into my user files.  When I push the voice button and select the sound that I want to use, switch to the pattern mode and try to use it, it will not take it.  Do I have to transfer the selected voice sound and store it in a user file somehow?  How much room do I have in the user banks to do this, I will wipe out what would be in those files or do you think it will take it, if this is the way I need to do this.  The same goes for a drum patterns that I would like to use alone, to start with modify or use like it is, and place in the pattern mode.

What I do now, is go to the Performance mode and block out the other 3 tracks (or use them, modify them), to get what I want to do.

Thanks in advance for all of your help

Welcome to the forum, Jazzguy. Sorry that I or someone else didn’t get back to you sooner. I can’t speak for the others, but I don’t usually monitor the “Motif in the Studio” forum. Unless your XF question(s) are about studio work, it might be best to post them in the XF forum in the future…

Here’s a support article you might find helpful in using a Voice in Pattern mode:
Be sure to STORE the Pattern once it’s set up the way you want.

If you have further questions, please post again, but doing so in the XF forum might get you faster and more replies.
