An AIEB2 (not AEIB2) will provide six assignable audio outputs (three left-right pairs) plus coaxial and optical digital audio. It’s typically used with a mixer. However, if you intend to work with a DAW, an mLAN8E interface would probably be a better choice. It would require that your computer be equipped with a FireWire (IEEE 1394) port. The Motif only has one space to mount either an AIEB2 or an mLAN8E, so you have to choose which is more appropriate for your needs. |

What is coaxial and digital audio and how and that benefit my workstation? What mixer type should I search for to make the AIEB2 work if I can not find an mlan8e? |

Digital audio from an AIEB2 is in S/PDIF format.
Both provide digital versions of the main analog output from the Motif - that is, 2-channel stereo.

Typical usage for an AIEB2 is live play where separate outputs can be controlled via a mixer, as desired. How the assignable outputs can be routed with a DAW depends on the interface with your computer. -----------------
