Hi everyone,

Ok, if DIMMS are installed in your motif XS.

And you want to do a mix on your motif Xs with a mp3 file, e.g a bcking track you downloaded from internet and wants to add any voice or voices from XS.

1.  Convert mp3 to WAV (Many free audio converters are available on internet)
2.  Transfer Wav to usb memory stick
3.  Go into song mode and select an empty song.
4.  press File, choose WAV, locate the file on your usb
5.  By default it will be downloaded onto C3 key of your keyboard. You can choose which track.
6.  Press REC and after four bar count in, press and hold the C3 key which will start to play the WAV file. When the whole Wav file is played, release the key and stop recording.
7.  Now there is an audio track created in your sequencer showing blue line.
8.  Adjust the volume, reverb and chorus of the audio track.
9.  You can add as many midi tracks or maybe more audio samples as you like.
10.  when the final mix is doe resample it

About 3) :
I think that the song doesn’t have to be empty, just the chosen track.

P.S.: after this I won’t trust anyone any more .....

Yeah, were are the old school musicians. Its now a days just recording, samples, loops, patterns, performances. The XS makes it easy to play music.

I am not talking about Sequel2, or Magix Music software. LOL.

Sometimes I am more busy to figure out how my machines works than creating music.

What does it matter. We are living in the digital age.

Joop you are right, shouldn’t be an empty song, just an empty track.

i was referring to starting a project from scratch.

and Jan, it’s good we spend time to understand the machine. How else we can create music if we don’t know about our boards.

XS is awesome though.

You dont have to keep holding that key for as long as the Audio file stops playing.
Just record a second of the Audio file to the track.
And then in event editor, lengthen the note to the length of the Audio File.
