Hi John and every one,
I have only just install the rack xs editors, and I am having the following problems.
1.  I can’t toggle the arp buttons for any of the parts using the keyboard or the mouse. Also, when I play my connected keyboard, the notes keep sustaining
on the rack xs, just like if I am pressing the sustain pedal. I tried using both my axiom 61 and my korg x50. as the keyboard input device.I have set aux
1 in the midi setup window
to use the keyboards, and the polarity for the sustain pedal is set correctly. In midi setup, input is set to motif rack xs port 1, output set to motif
rack xs port 1, my controler keyboard set as aux 1 using korg x50 or axiom 61 port. Please look in to this for me, I have only tried the mix editor, but
please
check all the editors. Thanks a lot.
Jason
P.S. If I want to have sonar open, as well as the mix editor, how do I make the midi notes I play on my connected keyboard not double up when I switch to the mix editor window, it’s like the midi notes are being triggered twice, once from sonar, and once from the mix editor, also, how do you choose the part you want to listen to if using the mix editor stand alone? For example, if I am working on part 10, how do I listen to part 10?

Re: 2 small problems with rack xs tools.

Hello Jason,

1. The Parts Arp Buttons are working fine here, please note
that they are check boxes and they can be toggled using the
space key not the arrow keys.

2. The sustaining notes from a connected auxiliary keyboard
is a known issue which will be fixed in the next version

PS. If you have your MIDI keyboard input enabled both
in the Mix Editor and Sonar you will hear double notes.
Currently the Mix Editor receives only in channel 0 - very nice
suggestion to receive to the currently selected part!

Kind regards,
John

Re: 2 small problems with rack xs tools.

Hi John,
Thanks a lot for replying. Do I have to turn on a master arp switch or any thing like that before I can turn on or off the arp switch for each part? I tried using the space bar to toggle each part, as well as my wife tried using the mouse. She says that when I press the space bar, the switch just blinks, but the switch does not toggle. It would be really cool to have the editor receive on the selected part. Also, there is a parameter in the general page of the utility mode called layer parts 1 4, can you include this switch in the next version? Thanks again for a really cool program.

Hmmm maybe you have already 4 arps on? Please note
that the Motif XS synths support up to 4 part arps.

The master ARP switch as well as the Layer 1-4 switch
as well as many other goodies will be included in the Mix
Editor front panel in the next version!

Re: 2 small problems with rack xs tools.

Hi John,
I am not near the rack xs today, but I will look at it again first thing tomorrow, I did a mix reset before trying to toggle the arp switches, so I don’t think that any of the parts were already on, the only thing I can think of is that I did not first turn on the master arp switch. I hope this is really the problem, since I am really looking forward to checking out the arps. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. Also, are you using a rack xs your self? Or just the xs keyboard? Also, if some one else on the list who is using John’s tools could please try toggling the arp switches for each part using the space bar on the keyboard, I would really appreciate it. Thanks again for any help.
Jason
