i’m using a UMX49 Behringer controller.
When i play the UMX keys I can see that Motif rack XS editor is receiving the midi signals cos’ software keys are moving and change colours but i cannot hear any sound. On the contrary i can hear sounds if i click with mouse on Editor keys. Why? What must i set?

thanks

Re: midi controller problem

I have this problem only if i use studio manager and Motif rack xs editor alone. I have no problem at all if i use these application inside cubase AI 4. Is it normal?

Another problem: the Editor loada the data each time i switch voice to multi and viceversa. Is it normal? once preloaded all the data system, why the editor doesn’t remember it? it’s boring…

thanks

Re: midi controller problem

Make sure you have set up the ‘Midi Thru’ in the software.

I had had the same problem and somehow overlooked this.

Re: midi controller problem

In Setup - midi settings of Studio Manager i’ve flagged the settings in this way:
Input ports: Yamaha motif R XS-1, Yamaha motif r XS-4, UMX49
Output ports: The same above
Midi thru: Input ports Yamaha motis R XS-1; output ports UMX49
But nothing happens. Which is the right configuration?
Just to remember what i want to do: I would like to connect Motif rack and play it with mu UMX49 using only Studio Manager and Editor (without Cubase AI4). Is it possiblre?

Thanks

In Studio Manager you will want to set the MIDI THRU function on and do the opposite of how you have it set.

INPUT should be from your controller keyboard
OUTPUT should be to your Motif-R XS Port 1
