I am new to the whole motif thing and I am loving it.  There are so many things I have to learn that it’s sort or intimidating.  Can anyone help with this:

I would love to use the drum kits as an accompliment but I am not understanding the manual (Not good).  Does anyone have any programming advice.  I am ready to just buy a drum machine for assistance since I am not getting it.  Thanks in advance.

PS.

I have the motif es for my personal use and the motif xs for my church so I could use advice about both.

Re: Using the Drum Kits

Welcome to the forum…

If you are finding the manual a bit daunting you may benefit from the Motif ES and Motif XS DVD’s available in the MotifMart. Click the link above for MotifMart and then on the Video/DVD link.

The DVDs are complete tour of the basics and you really can get a sense of the procedures. Plus you can pause and repeat whenever you wish.

Of course, if you have specific questions you can always post them here on the forums.

Re: Using the Drum Kits

Don’t be a fool !! You already have a Motif so what in the world makes you feel the necessity to go for a DRUM MACHINE !! Here’s what you have to do :
1. Switch over to the Pattern play mode.
2. In the bottom right hand corner you’ll find “Phrase”
3. Switch on to the function/subfunction button and from there you can copy preset drum phrases (See copying Drum Phrases from your manual)

In case your still confused you can directly record Drum Arp.
In The Arp lists, switch on to category Dr. and then use on any of them..
Hope this helps..Cheers..!!

Thanks for your responses.  I will look into both ideas.
