I recently found out that a friend has a good working (he says) Yamaha DX21 in his garage.  Will it be fair to assume that it has the same sounds as the PLG150-DX board?  Just wondering.  I wonder if it would make sense to invest on the DX21 and not the PLG-DX board.  I’ve never owned the PLG150-DX nor the Yamaha DX21 so i thought I would put the question out there and see if anyone knows the difference if any.

Thank you in advance for your time.

René

Re: Yamaha DX21 and PLG150-DX question...

The DX21 was a four operator FM synthesizer.

The PLG150-DX is a full six operator FM synthesizer equivalent to a DX7IIFD. The the PLG is quite a bit more advanced than the old DX21.
