Motif XS is the latest and greatest instrument in the Motif Series.
Building on the ground-breaking technology and experience that Yamaha has utilized since the first Motif arrived in 2001, the XS is not just Motif only more so , it represents a major shift in how these world-beating sounds and effects can be enjoyed and applied within modern music production.
The Motif XS was released in April
2007 so this is still very early days in terms of understanding
what the XS can do and what else people might need in terms
of help, media, software, or accessories.
But whatever those might be Motifator.com is surely the
destination.
Immediate questions are already being asked and answered
almost in real time on the forums.
If you want to see and hear a Motif XS do please visit your
local music store. But if that’s not possible right
this moment you can visit The
Listening Room (for audio demos)
and the Web
Videos area in Motifated Media where you’ll
find an ever-growing selection of videos.
The company behind Motifator.com also has a video division
that has produced all of Yamaha’s official ‘Motif’ DVDs
along with several independent productions such as Sound
Advice, and the XS MasterClass.
Whassup?
Back on the site, we are constantly adding materials to
the (free) Web
Video pages, and to Behind
The Manual. Make sure you check back here on a regular
basis or subscribe to the new Motifator RSS feed to be kept
informed of new content being added.
Although the XS is brim full of content, you always need
more (don't you?) Motif sound design guru, Dave Polich from
DCP, is recreating the bulk of his groundbreaking voice libraries
for the new waveROM and functionality of the XS. This is
a ground-up job, not mere cosmetics, so it may be awhile
before Dave's complete library has been converted. Check
in at the MotifMart and
see which ones are currently available.
Other essentials you can find in this dedicated ‘Motif
shop' included certified
and guaranteed sample memory, hard
and soft cases, the crucial (if you want to make use of the
XS's half-damping capability) FC3
pedal, as well as headphones,
monitors, USB
sticks, books and DVDs, and a gazillion other
things to help maximize your music-making experience.
Motifator.com is the pre-eminent Motif community on the web;
grounded in community activities such as free on-line hosting
and file-sharing, plus the user forums, but also with an official
dimension in terms of technical support from the source, disbursement
of tutorials and documentation, and close ties to Yamaha support
staff in terms of promos, clinics, and events. Finally the
MotifMart store has become not only the place where anything
relating to a Motif can be found, it has become a venue for
the community itself to sell independently produced software
and sound libraries. |
