The Motif is unable to load multiple User Arp files - loading a new one overwrites what was previously loaded. Arps-Plus allows creation of Arp files that combine two Arp files or Arps from "All" files into one. When loaded, all the Arps from the two files will be available. Additional files can be joined with the previous file combination, up to a maximum of 256 Arps. The Arps-Plus program should run on any version of Windows from 2000 through 10, although Vista and 8 operation have not been verified. Minimum monitor resolution should be 1024x768. (Users with a widescreen or multiple-monitor configuration, please see Note below.) Installation can be done by running the Arps-Plus_v1_00_setup.exe file, which by default will install the program to an Arps-Plus subfolder in the Program Files folder. You can elect to change that default location. Alternatively, the program files can be manually installed to a location of your choice. For manual installation, Arps-Plus_v1_00.exe, ReadmeArpsPlus_v1_00.txt, and Arps+_One-Note.X3G should be copied to a single folder. The first time you use Arps-Plus, you will be presented with a "CONDITIONS OF USE" window. If you want to use the program, you must indicate your understanding and agreement with the stated conditions by clicking [YES]. Otherwise, you may click [NO], but the program will close if you do so. Once you click [YES], subsequent usage of Arps-Plus will bypass "CONDITIONS OF USE". The program will open to a standard Windows file dialog. Select the first of the Arp files to combine. A small window will open, showing the filename of the selection and the number of Arps in it. The window will also contain two buttons, [BACK] and [CONTINUE] - clicking [BACK] allows reselection of the file, [CONTINUE] moves to selection of the second file. Any combination of two X0G/X3G(Arp) or X0A/X3A(All) files can be chosen to make up the new Arp file. Once both files are selected, you will be given a choice of saving the combined Arp files as either an X0G file by clicking [For XS], or an X3G file by clicking [For XF]. You will then be asked to enter a filename, without extension, for the combined Arps - Arps-Plus will add the appropriate file extension. Clicking [OK] will cause a scroll box to be displayed - it will show the first file's name and number range of Arps, the second file's name and number of added Arps, a list of the added Arps with their new and previous numbers, and the name of the newly created file and the folder to which it was written. The scroll box can be maximized if desired, and the contents edited, saved, printed, etc. The numbering of the listed added Arps can be helpful in editing Voices when more than one library and a combined Arp file have been loaded to your XS/XF. To reestablish the relationship of a Voice with an added User Arp, from the Motif's Edit mode you can determine what number the Arp was originally, find that number in the "Was" column, and edit the Voice to point to the "Now" number. To make that easier, when creating the combined Arp file it's best to choose the file with the greater number of Arps first - that way, the number of Voices needing editing will be minimized. If you would like a list of the Arps in a file, you can choose the provided "Arps-Plus_One-Note.X3G" file as the first file. Then choose any other Arp file for the second - the Arps listed in the scroll box will be those of the second file. The "Was" column will list the numbering of the Arps in the second file if it's not combined with another. If wanted, maximize and save, print, etc., the list. Next, a small window with three buttons will appear. [Quit] will end the program. [More] will reopen the file dialog window to allow selection of other Arp files. [Help] will display basic program usage information. These buttons will also be displayed if [Cancel] is clicked during filename entry. More than two Arp files can be combined by clicking [MORE] once the initial two are joined. Just choose the next "first" file (which can be one already combined) and a second one. Exceeding the maximum number of 256 Arps is prevented - a warning is given, indicating the number of Arps in each chosen file. Incorrect file types and related problems are blocked. When a filename is entered that matches an existing file, a choice is given whether to overwrite it. Hints: * Make backup copies of any original files and work with the backups. * For easier operation, copy X0G and X3G Arp files to the folder where Arps-Plus is located. * If a library contains User Arps in its "All" file, but doesn't include a separate X0G or X3G file, one can be created. After loading the library to the Motif, just save an "All Arpeggio" file, and copy it to your computer. Note to users with a widesreen or multiple-monitor configuration: The program will detect when widescreen or multiple monitors are in use, and a window with drop-down menu will be displayed. Please select the screen resolution of your primary monitor. If you are unsure, it is better to choose a low resolution so that the windows will open on screen. If you accidentally choose too high a resolution, the Arps-Plus windows might not be visible, although a button will appear on the Taskbar. Should that happen, right-click the button, then click "Close". You will also have the option of choosing "AutoRes" for the resolution. In most cases that will result in proper placement of Arps-Plus's windows, although in some instances it may be less accurate than manually selecting the correct resolution. The resolution you choose will be stored so that the choice has to be made only once. However, if you wish to change the setting, whenever the program is started there is short time when pressing R on the computer keyboard will again open the resolution menu. v1.00
