all on the motif CLASSIC (classico) ...

Ripened Peas - Three Story Dungeon

i released an EP, recorded alone on my yamaha motif 6. its 3 songs all recorded within a year from each other - in october 2022 and may 2023.  its an interesting time in my life and output of music. i’m most proud of track 3 which kind of represents a happier view of Los Angeles and southern California based on experiences and feelings ‘n such.

each song(or sequences recorded in real time) has a drum pattern.  the drum patterns were recorded with an ear and no brain.  the drum patterns had to have attitude, and although i understand some things about drums, i still gave no thought about the realness of the drums. i hit the keys and played the drums on a keyboard, is all, like a drummer, but on a keyboard.

next are pads and synths. i really still don’t know what to say.  they are AN1X(PLG150-AN).  it’s infamous and what not.  i used a preset on ‘Three Story Dungeon’. the preset i believe is ‘Earth’.

‘$23’ was recorded days after hearing a song by Charmaines Names and feeling inspired.  this song, and its parts, were all recorded very quickly and i remember finishing the song relatively fast. i was very happy with it.  it freed me.

‘fantasy’ is what i named the last track.  it contains a Michael Franks recording that was sent through a DSI Mopho 2-pole filter, then sampled on the Motif.  this song was recorded much later than the first 2 songs. is that an 808 clap?
