Yamaha PLG150VL for Motif ES - does it make sense to buy?
in the sequencer Motif es, PLG150VL-it will be 16 tracks +1 VL=17. Right?
And if you put all three inserts of the PLG board, will there be 16 tracks +3 PLG, or am I thinking wrong?

Hi,

If you’re referring to the internal sequencer on the Motif ES, it is limited to 16 tracks. Adding PLG boards won’t change this.

Controlling the Motif ES from a computer via the USB-MIDI connection, on the other hand, allows for a 16 + 3 configuration. The PLG boards can then be accessed on their own MIDI port/channels.

That is, 16 + 3 can be run from a computer (Cubase) via usb in Motif Es and so all tracks will play?

There is a motive for 16 tracks in the song - is it possible to change the patch on one track? For example, there was A01, and during the song it changed to B14?

In Song Edit mode, MIDI events such as Program Change can be inserted to your tracks (see manual, page 124). You can also use the Song Scene function to program voice changes.
