Are there any particular advantages/disadvantages for putting two of the same PLG boards into the ES Rack? Or is it simply redundant with no real benefit? What I am thinking about is getting two of the same PLG’s to increase flexibility and voices. Specifically for layering different voices. Change My Mind |

Hi, The boards can’t do increased polyphony and layering at the same time, so one possible disadvantage is that you may find yourself switching PolyExpand On/Off a lot. The PolyExpand = On option makes two identical PLG boards act as one, with double the polyphony, which can be and advantage in some scenarios. As long as PolyExpand is on, however, both boards operate on the same MIDI channel, and layering separate voices from them is not possible. One bonus is that each PLG slot has its own User Voice bank, so you have twice the room for your own patches (not sure if both are available when PolyExpand = On, though). - H - |
