I have many banks of voices from my ES. I’m loading one at a time to my XS being very selective. I’m sure I’m missing something, but after I load a voice and choose another to load, in order to change the voice location for the next voice, I have to scroll thru all 128 voices in order for the cursor to get to the voice location to designate where I want the new voice to go.

Is there an easy way, while I’m in the voice list of potential voices to load, to jump to the new user location without scrolling to the bottom of the voice list in order to access the new user location?

Correct. And once you’ve highlighted that area, you can use the Bank (USR1/2/3), Group (A-H), and Number (1-16) buttons to go directly to a location rather than using INC/DEC or the Data Dial.

Also, with a USB ASCII keyboard attached to the TO DEVICE port you could use the [+] and [-] keys to rapidly scroll through by holding those keys down. (You’ll get a light show as well, as the button LEDs flash on/off in sequence.)

What’s that, you say you have a flash drive already connected, so there’s no place for the ASCII keyboard to plug in? Easily solved - get a multi-port USB hub. I’ve got a three-port one, with the ASCII keyboard plugged into one port, leaving the remaining two available for flash drives.

By the way, if you set up networking all the drives can be seen by the computer, and files accessed and moved between them. No need to copy files on the computer to a flash drive, move the flash drive from the computer to the XS, etc.

Here’s another question. On usb I have 2 user banks of sounds on 1 file. When I access voice to load, I see user bank 1 but not bank 2. Is there a way to access user bank 2 in voice file mode on XS?

You posted right after I did, so probably didn’t see what I said. Use the Bank buttons.

Well duh! Yea that worked. You must forgive me. I’m a little slow. I haven’t used my ES for over 10 years. Just getting back into it with the XS. Besides being an old geezer.

Presuming I’m understanding your question…
Highlight the file. Press Enter. Press USR2.

We seem to be talking past each other.  :-)
(In the literal, not figurative, sense.)

Glad you got it.

By the way, chances are good that I’m older than you are.

Wow! That is so cool being able to use a computer keyboard to type in names and other functions. Does the XS automatically regonize the computer keyboard or are there settings to deal with? I have an old usb hub x 4 from an XP computer. Will that work?
