I’d like to modify one of the Flute Voices in my MOXF so that the vibrato does not automatically start after a second or two, but rather starts using the Mod Wheel. What parameter in voice edit mode for these voices should I be looking to turn off and reassign to the Mod Wheel? |

With many Waveforms the vibrato is part of the sample, and therefore it can’t be reassigned. Which specific Preset Voices are you referring to? Please give names and Bank/Number. |

Well, yes and no… The Waveforms used for those two GM Voices do not have vibrato as part of the samples. The vibrato is added via the Common LFO. GM E09 Piccolo uses Waveform 1255 Piccolo1 GM E10 Flute uses Waveform 1214 Flute Non-Vib (plus 1216 Flute1 in Element 3).
If you’d like to better understand how those GM Voices work, try this…
Then edit Element 3 > [F1]OSC > [SF1]WAVE and turn its Switch off. (See page 38 of the MOXF Reference Manual.) That should make it easier to understand what’s happening with Elements 1 and 2. You should now find that the MW controls the vibrato, although the range might not be what you’d want. If you go back to Common Edit > [F4}CTL SET you’ll see the MW Destinations (Common LFO Depth1 and Element LFO AMD). You could experiment with their Depths to find a suitable range for the MW. |
