Hello,

I just downloaded the Motif XS VST Editor to be used within Cubase Elements 10 DAW for the first time and I getting an error that says, ”Time Out Error” on the VST plugin.

I have my Motif XS8 OS Firmware updated to the latest version of 160 and the Motif XS Editor version is 1.6.4.

What could possibly be going wrong? I’d love to use this VST and get it working for the first time.

I’ve attached a screenshot of the error message.

Welcome to the forum.

A Time Out Error typically is caused by inability of the Editor to communicate with the XS due to incorrect Port or Device Number assignments. That seems to be the case, based on the screen capture you posted. Is your XS actually set as Device Number 9, for example? It’s more usual for the XS Device Number to be set to “all” or “1”, unless you have several XS units.

To check the Device Number setting in the XS:
Press [UTILITY]
Press [F5](Control)
Press [SF2](MIDI)
