The Song jobs and Pattern jobs are very useful sets of software that have been embedded in Yamaha Synths and Sequencers for a long time (at least I think they have)

I have these jobs in my Motif, and my MOX, also in my QY100.

A mate of mind was telling me today that he was using these same kinds of jobs in his SY99.  Wow!

Does anybody know how far back, the song jobs, and pattern mode jobs go back in Yamaha line of Synths?  If they were in the SY99, I’m assuming they were in the EX5.  Did they originate with Yamaha line of hardware Sequencers?  These jobs really perform a lot of important functions.  I can’t imagine what I would do if they were not built in.

I’m also curious if at least the song mode jobs were carried forward to the Montage and MoDx synths.  Anybody know?
