Hi guys

Do I have to format both my smart media and USB drive in my Motif ES itself or can I format it on my windows laptop

I had a 2GB Sandisk USB drive that all of a sudden started playing up at a show after I’d loaded it
Luckily I’d saved everything to a new identical USB stick, I then took the faulty USB stick home and it loaded fine into my laptop

Is it common for the USB reader in the Motif ES to fail after many years of use?
