Hallo, i am using Yamaha motif ES7, I am wondering do i need to purchase Ram and other stuff if what i need won’t be met. so.. 1.Can i connect my pc with the yamaha synth to transfer midi notes. For example: i make a sample with midi notes, i load them into the synth and put them in pattern mode with the sound that i like. 2.Is there a possibility to record guitar, other musical instrument or voice by the input in the synth? |

Welcome to the forum.

It’s not clear to me what you mean by “a sample with midi notes”. If you mean a sequence of notes recorded as a Standard MIDI File (SMF, file extension .MID), that can be loaded in File mode to a Song or Pattern. See pages 266-270 of the Owner’s Manual. If just MIDI notes, no DIMMs (SDRAM) are required.

Loading audio samples or recording audio are both functions requiring that the ES have optional SDRAM (DIMMs) installed. see page 289 of the ES Owner’s Manual (http://www.motifator.com/index.php/support/view/sampling_in_sequencer_mode_with_the_motif_es). http://shop.motifator.com/index.php/memory/mek1gb.html See http://www.motifator.com/index.php/support/view/sampling_in_sequencer_mode_with_the_motif_es |
