Has any one tried to link a model ES with a computer running windows 10?  Are there any other music programs that can communicate with an ES8 and a Montage?

Both your instruments can be connected to your computer. They use different drivers, though: The ES needs the Yamaha USB-MIDI driver, while the Montage uses the Yamaha Steinberg USB driver.

The ES8 uses its USB connection just for MIDI, while the Montage can transfer both Audio and MIDI over USB. You should therefore be able to use both instruments as inputs/outputs for MIDI data in almost any sequencer/DAW.

In addition, any software that handles ASIO will allow the Montage to be used as an Audio input/output too, much like a professional sound card.
