Hello guys,
i’m trying to find a way to create an automation that could switch the part in a Song (Mixing) during the live shows.
Example: i’m playing a piano part (Track 1) and at a certain point i’d like to play Brass sections (track 2) while i’m playing another keyboard with my left hand.
Instead of switching to track 2 with my hand, can i do that with a SYSEX?
Please help me.

Welcome to the forum.

You can send this SysEx message in Song (or Pattern) mode…
F0 43 10 7F 12 64 03 00 pp F7
where pp = Part, 00-0F hex (Part 1-16)
...with the XF in MIXING mode (press [MIXING] button)

For example…
F0 43 10 7F 12 64 03 00 01 F7 should select Part 2
F0 43 10 7F 12 64 03 00 04 F7 should select Part 5
F0 43 10 7F 12 64 03 00 0A F7 should select Part 11

I tried this.
But it only work in Mixing Mode, not in Song mode…
Can you help me?

Yes, it works in Song (or Pattern) MIXING mode.

I do believe that’s what you asked for…

So that isn’t what you want?

Perhaps you could explain in some detail how you are using the XF live, and why Mixing mode wouldn’t be appropriate. There might be another approach, given more information.

It works only if i’m inside the Mixing mode.(pressing Mixing button everytime after that i selected a song).
But i need to stay in Song mode, where this Sysex doesn’t work…

OK. How many Parts (out of 16) must be available in each Song Mixing?

Is there any layering or splitting of the Parts?

I already made all my setup on each songs, with layers and splits.
I’m only searching if there is a way to select the Parts to play in a Song without pressing any button with my hand (the same thing that works in Mixing mode as you told me before, but i wanted it in Song mode)

I got that you want to select Parts via SysEx without selecting Mixing mode - I know of no single SysEx command to do that. I can explain how to select single Parts in a Song Mixing, as long as a maximum of 15 Parts are required. Beyond that, switching layered/split Parts by SysEx gets tricky. If you want additional help, post an “All Song” file with an example of a Song Mixing you need to use, and I’ll see what might be done.

it’s exactly what i wanted, to select single parts in a Song Mode (ex. Part 1 at the beginning of the song. Part 3 in the middle part of the song, Part 4 at the end, etc.)

I dont want to split or layer parts via sysex…

Sorry, but we seem to have a language or other barrier to communication.

You apparently do want to switch the Parts being played via SysEx, and they might be layered/split…

I’m trying to help, but I need to see an example of your Song Mixings. I can’t guess at what your Mixings look like, and I can’t offer useful suggestions without that information.

Unfortunately i cant’ attach a file bigger than 2 mb…
my X3S file is 3 mb :(

But i think you don’t need it, it’s only matter to change part via Sysex instead using buttons on Motif…

The file size limit for attachments is 20 MB, not 2, and you should ZIP the X3S before attaching it.

I’ve found ways to do things that aren’t explained in the XF manuals, and aren’t obvious. I can’t be certain they can be applied to your situation (splits/layers in a Mixing) without seeing an example of what you’re doing. Sorry, but that’s the way it is.
