Is it possible to setup an XS6 and midi controller in such a way that the all 49 keys of the controller are dedicated to bass, and the XS6 covers the keys only? I currently use just the XS6 in performance with a split, but with only 61 keys, I’m very limited in note range. I want to add the controller to extend the range. I basically want two keyboards, one bass, and one keys. Thanks |

You use Master Mode. You set up (1) ZONE in Master Mode (Associated with a SONG or PATTERN MIXING for best results) to allow the controller to play a bass VOICE(PART) of your choosing, on a MIDI channel of your choosing. That allows up to (7) additional ZONES to be utilized by the XS internally, with VOICES(PARTS) of your choosing, on up to (7) additional MIDI channels, with all (8) of your sliders controlling the mix, (1) slider per ZONE. The place to start with Master Mode is This Article. After going through that, post back with questions. EDIT: The reason you will use SONG or PATTERN Mode, with MASTER Mode, Is that those are the (2) Modes that allow for simultaneous performance on multiple MIDI channels...which will allow you to use the external controller in the manner you desire. |

Ok, I have a follow up question. I have the zones working… thanks, now is it possible to bride the transpose key across both boards, so that a change to one, effects both? Thanks |

I don’t know of a way to activate Transpose on an external ZONE using the front panel Transpose button. My understanding is that the transpose button will act exclusively on the internally addressed PARTS. If that is not the case, hopefully someone will chime in. |
