Hi.

I’m trying to play some sounds (sirene, etc) from bruno mars song (locked out of heaven). I’ve used the link http://www.motifator.com/index.php/forum/viewthread/464175
to get these sounds but i’m facing some problems to load these files on Yamaha MOXF6.

I have the following doubts:

1. Is it a requirement to have flash memory installed to play .wav sounds ? If i don’t have it, won’t it be possible to execute .wav files that i got ?

2. I’ve converted this .wav for mid extension, but most of the files showed the following error message: “Unknown File Format”.

Has anyone ever faced these problems ?

Thanks in advance.

Rafael

Yes, on the MOXF you must have a Flash Module installed to LOAD the Sample files into.

There is no USER Memory for Sample data on the machine itself.

Yes, the MOXF needs a flash module in order to load and play .WAVs.

2. I’ve converted this .wav for mid extension, but most of the files showed the following error message: “Unknown File Format”.

A .WAV file is a form of digital audio. A .MID file is a set of instructions for playing a MIDI instrument. So-called “WAV to MIDI” converters attempt to generate a .MID file with events such as note-on, note-off, velocity, etc., from a .WAV music file. That won’t help in your case, where the .WAV files are sound samples.
