Hi there,
I hope someone can help me with this:
I own a Motif XF runnin on firmware version 1.30.3 which won’t activate a wifi adapter from Edimax type EW7811Un.
The adapters blue led flashes when I put it in my laptop, it is brandnew, so I presume the adapter would work.
In one way ore another the XF just won’t swith the adaptor on.
Ideas someone?

Brand new doesn’t necessarily mean compatible.

Current Compatible USB Device List for MOTIF XS/XF
(as of January 2017 at time of posting this):

The Edimax model you have isn’t on the list, although it still might be compatible.

The firmware installed in your XF is not recent, which may or may not cause a WiFi-related problem.

I updated the latest firmware, but the wifi adapter is still dead.
Should I have to buy one of the listed adaptors? Or is there anything else I overlooked?

Apparently the Edimax EW7811Un is not compatible.

Ok, now I have a D-link DWA-140 usb to wifi adapter which according to the list should be compatible. The USB stick is connected to the USB to device connector on my Motif.
When I follow the manuals and tutorials I am able to see the Motif under Devices in the Wifi settings in my ipad, when I select the Motif the ipad responses with
the message that the Motif is not cennected with the internet. I neglect that and select connect.
I see the blue checkmark in the Wifi set up, when I open the information window I can see the IP and Router addresses on the DHCP tab.
However when I open the IP info window in the Motif I see that the IP address in the Motif is displayed in the Router address in my ipad.
The ipad displays an IP address which I cannot discover in the Motif.
It puzzles me, tried everything but I can’t establish the connection.
Suggestions?

Oh yes, additional info: I am able to connect the Motif to my home Wifi network via infrastructure in Motif settings, it also sees my other Wifi networks. So the D-link seems to work. Just can’t get the ipad connected the right way.

Sorry, I don’t use an iPad, so I can’t personally be of help with that.

This Google search has Motifator threads that might be helpful:

Perhaps this will provide some insight:

If not, post again, and hopefully other members who are successfully using an iPad will post.
