I’ve tried to find the answer to this by searching and by looking at the specs but can’t find it anywhere.

I’ve a feeling it might be 16 steps but I’m not sure if that’s a figure I’ve heard and mistook 16 tracks for 16 steps!

What’s the maximum number of steps I can have using the step sequencer on the moxf?

You might run out of notes to sequence before the sequencer runs out of steps.  :-)

On the other hand, if you’re trying to create a sequence that will be converted to an Arp, the Arp can have a maximum of 16 different notes (not “steps” or length of the sequence).

Excellent thanks. I remember my first couple of posts on this forum when I was really struggling to make sense of the MOXF.. you replied saying that the MOXF was incredibly deep and ‘stick with it’.

I’m still learning stuff now and am still constantly being amazed at how much this synth can do :-)

It’s not really a step sequencer in the classic sense, because there is no step editing, only entry. So the length of step entry is only limited by the maximum storage limit of the sequencer.

Indeed. I think they refer to it as ‘step recording’ in the manuals?
