Hello dear friends at Motifator, I’d like to ask for some advice.
I’ve recently loaded a Rhodes library for MOTIF XF, and all of its samples sound great.
I noticed some of the presets, the Full Concert Grand for instance, no longer sound the way they used to sound though.
As a matter of fact, I see the new library has initialized various internal voices.
Do you happen to know of an alternative way of loading external samples without necessarily losing the quality of the ones already present on the keyboard?
Thanks for your attention and, hopefully, for your help.

Ted

We seem to have been down this path before…

Besides loading as TYPE “all without system” or “1bankvoice”, Voices can be individually loaded if that better meets your needs.

Do you have specific questions about using the various load Types?

Hi dear 5pinDIN, and thanks for answering.
The library is a X3A file, and it seems like I can’t load single voices, when I try I only see a list of 128 initialized voices.

Hi dear 5pinDIN, and thanks for answering.

You’re welcome.

ted81 -

Apparently the library you’re working with has initialized Voices in at least one of the four User Voice Banks. With Type “voice”, after selecting a file you should then select the Bank by pressing the [USER 1] through [USER 4] buttons. Try selecting each of the Banks using those buttons, and you should find the correct Bank.

Details are in Loading a specific Voice or all the Voices of a specific Bank from an “all” or “all voice” file on pages 243-244 of the XF Reference Manual (https://usa.yamaha.com/files/download/other_assets/4/323564/motifxf_en_rm_a0.pdf).

Hi dear 5pinDIN, and thank you so much. You rock!
I finally managed to load single voices, and without affecting the other ones already on the keyboard.
Thanks for your help my friend, I really appreciate it.

All the Best,

T.
