That is not possible.

The Flash Module can STORE only sample/waveform data.

A Pattern/Song in Motif XF format can’t be saved to a flash module.

A Song rendered as a .WAV file, by whatever method it’s been done (there are a few possibilities), could then be loaded to a flash module. The XF can’t directly record a Song as .WAV to flash.

What usage did you have in mind?

5PIN: Just wanted to store various songs n’stuff on the XF rather than on a USB (convenience only). However, it appears that’s not possible.
Thx for the reply guys - you’re awesome.

I just tried something, and I was able to record a Motif Song as a Waveform on the XF, and then copy it to flash. I don’t have the time right now to describe what I did, but I’ll post about it later today.

Just to make this clear…
The result of the following is a Song recorded as a Waveform . Once in that format, it can’t be loaded back to the sequencer and edited, but it can be triggered to play in various modes. Songs/Patterns should be saved to USB in XF format files if you want to reload and work with them in the sequencer.

To save myself a lot of typing, see METHOD 4: RESAMPLING in this support article:
http://www.motifator.com/index.php/support/view/how_to_make_a_wav_or_aiff_for_cd_mp3_creation
Set things up, adjust levels, normalize, etc., as in the article, until you’ve got a satisfactory recording. However, stop right before ”You can now go to FILE and save this data as a WAV file or AIFF file TYPE.” Instead, rename the “New Waveform” file using [JOB] > F2(Waveform) > 03:Rename. Then use [F3](Other) > 03:Copy to Flash memory.

I’ll let you decide for yourself if that’s useful.

Have you considered something like This?

I have a couple of similar, and can keep them plugged into the machine continuously...even into and out of the road case.

It’s certainly a viable option as they are unintrusive (don’t stick out) like a thumb drive. Thx!
