Hello!!!

I need a sound in motif xs that comes close to the elec. piano sound used in “Logical song - Supertramp”.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for your help.

Hi comandophariha,

It’s very likely a Wurlitzer A200 electric piano, and there are perfectly usable Wurlitzer voices on the XS.

The REALLY special thing about that track is in how it’s played, with more ‘bite’ on the notes that are accented.

To put that in Motif terms, if you go at it with nothing but similar note velocities at any level, you’re not going to be able to recreate the true flavour of that riff.

So, you need to make sure you pick a sound which will give you that bite when you accent a note.

Something like PRE1 046 C14 - Wurli EP Bright would give you a nice starting place.

You might want to add a little chorus to it, too.
