I’ve only just got around to connecting my MOXF to my computer but was disappointed to see the size of the MOXF Editor and the fact that I will probably need a telescope to read the tiny text!

Is there any way to make this bigger? I don’t really want to make a change to the screen resolution just for this one thing.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a new problem.

Windows has a built-in screen Magnifier, and I believe that Mac OS has a similar function.

Thanks. Are there any more tools available for the MOXF? This particular app is just not usable at this size in my opinion.

The only other option I may have is to put a 2nd monitor on my desk and run that at a higher resolution just for the tools but this would be a last resort.

I can’t believe anyone could produce such shoddy software to be honest.

Thanks. Yes I forgot about these tools. I assume they are the better option?

I believe you will find they are a great option.

Even with the much larger screen-real-estate on my XF (as compared to the MOXF), I find the Melas tools indispensable for meat and potato editing and library assembly, when I have the computer available.

Since all are available free in DEMO mode, no reason for you to not check them out.

jg666,

Only the Yamaha editor will work as a VST if that’s important.

I think the only problem I can see is that I don’t have a Paypal account and not really sure if I want one. I’d prefer to pay by credit/debit card or bank transfer.

I believe this issue has come up before.

Take a look at This Thread

Contact John Melas via his website, and see if you can work out alternate payment options.

I believe you can pay with credit card on paypal without a paypal account.

I think you’re right. I don’t remember exactly but I don’t use paypal routinely and still the payment was extremely simple process.
Note that John Melas is kind enough to assemble special bundles, other than the ones offered in the melas homepage if requested. In my case I requested a librarian/mix/waveform editor bundle. Normally taking a bundle is more cost effective than a single module.

John Melas tools rock! They have been indispensable in my work on KARMA Motif software.

Sadly I’m coming to the conclusion that Yamaha has a very poor software department!

I’ve finally loaded Cubase which came free with the MOXF and I’ve got problems with that as well. The install gave an error but still seemed to complete but now the software is saying that some audio files are missing. I’ve put a support issue in for this but heard nothing back yet.

Also, when I open Cubase it just stops the audio from anything else on the computer working and if I try to play a video I get told that Cubase has this locked (or something similar). So it seems that if I choose to use Cubase, I can’t do anything else at all useful on the computer - I’d like to watch ‘how to’ videos on Youtube at the same time but can’t.

The interface seems to be both daunting and unhelpful. I’ve used Sony Acid Pro (loop based music making) for a few years so not a complete novice to this kind of thing.

I was hoping I could use software on the computer to overcome the unhelpful menu systems in the MOXF6 but it looks like Cubase suffers from the same problems at first glance.

Not in front of my computer atm, but under Devices there will be an option you can check to ‘Release asio in background’ or similar.
