Hi peeps,

Sorry if this has already been asked but I’m in the process of buying a secondhand S70 XS but when you turn it on it’s stuck on transpose +7!!  Is there a way to change this in the settings?

Welcome to the forum.

Utility mode Transpose (and Note Shift) settings can be changed and then stored (by pressing the [STORE] button). If you find the Transpose setting can’t be changed, Panel Lock may have been engaged.

You can download a PDF version of the S90XS/S70XS Reference Manual…
http://download.yamaha.com/file/9610
... and see pages 133 and 145 for details of the above settings.

Thanks, transpose is always on +11 when I switch the board on, note shift is set to 0 on utility general but can’t see where transpose utility is, sorry if I sound thick first time using Yamaha products.

With “Utility General 1/8” displayed (as per page 133 of the Reference Manual), cursor down to “Kbd Transpose” (it’s below “Asgn L+R Gain” and “Kbd Octave") . You could also just use the TRANSPOSE [ - ] button. Either way, once the setting is at zero, STORE it.

By the way, a factory reset will restore everything (including the Transpose setting) to “as new”. Be sure to save an “All” file beforehand if there are any Voices, etc., that have been changed from original and you might want to reload in the future.

See Fctry Set(Factory Set) information on page 18 of the Owner’s Manual (http://download.yamaha.com/file/9603) and page 145 of the Reference Manual for details.
