Hi experts and everyone,

I’ve recently had a really weird problem with my XF7.  Couple months ago I created/saved an ALL file(X3A).  I made some changes, saved ALL, then re-loaded the file.  Now my XF is out of Pitch/Tune(it’s like haft note down and more than that).  I even tried to Reset to Factory(at this time it was back to good pitch/tune as original), but when I re-loaded ALL file again, the problem re-occurred.  Has anyone experienced the same problem and do you know how to fix it?  Really strange for me.

Thanks a lot
Shane

Your post doesn’t indicate what’s being affected - that is, whether it’s the tone generator or the keyboard that’s shifted. Either way, it seems that the “All” file you saved was done when one or the other was at other than normal tuning. Such System settings are accessed from the Utility mode.

See “Tone Generator and Keyboard settings” on page 219 of the XF Reference Manual (http://download.yamaha.com/file/48531). Make sure that Note Shift, Tune, Octave, and Transpose are all at “+0”. If not, change the necessary setting(s) and STORE any changes.

Alternatively, you could do a factory reset, than load your file as “all without system” - see page 243 of the Reference Manual.

When you’re satisfied with the XF’s operation, you could save a new “All” file.

Hi 5pinDIN,

I am not sure I understand your question but I think it’s the keyboard.  Anyway, you gave me some great suggestions and I will try those see if it fixes it.  I will let you know the result.  Thanks again

Thanks 5pinDIN.  I really appreciate your help.  Your suggestion actually worked.  I did a factory reset, then I loaded the file as “all without system”.  I already saved as a new “All” file.  So if next time I load it, do I still need to load as “all without system” or can I use “all”?

You’re welcome.

If the new “All” file was saved when the tuning was correct, you can load it as “all”.
