My fellow musicians,

What do I need to connect and get sound from my MBPRO when connecting MOXF to Mainstage3?

Does audio come through the USB cable to the DA interface in the MOXF?

I read BadMisters instructions on how to hook up through Master Mode and I step by stepped that but, no sound.

Do I need to take a cable out of my MBPRO audio out to my mixer?

Please someone offer me a step by step here or point me to where I look for this on the manual or....find me a Yamaha tutor in L.A.

I would want to combine the internal sounds of the MOXF with sounds from Mainstage and use the DAW control on my MOXF to control volume from Mainstage3.

I’ve assigned MOXF to Midi Ch. 1.  Would put Mainstage on Ch. 2.

I play but I am challenged by this programming.

Peace People

The MOXF can act as your audio interface, passing audio into and out from Mainstage.

Is that what you are trying to accomplish?

That is what I want to accomplish so that I can hear Mainstage coming out of my MOXF.

How do I set that up with the MOXF and with Mainstage3....

Besides hooking up basic USB cable from MOXF to MBPro,

What command set ups on MOXF?

What set up on Mainstage3?

Did you install the Yamaha Steinberg USB driver on your MBP?

No I have not. Is that absolutely necessary?

Yes, you must install the Steinberg USB driver to pass audio over USB.

Thank you MBFulton.

I also read this from Bad Mister:

One thing we can tell you, you will need to select the Yamaha Steinberg USB Driver if you wish to have the MOXF communicate MIDI and audio to your computer. “Be sure you select it within your program’s setup.”

What does Bad Mister mean by that “italicized” statement?

Is he referring to Mainstage3 setup that I download it through the set up?
I’m not clear.

Thanks MBFulton.

Just a small fyi - if you disconnect and reconnect the moxf from the computer sometimes you have to open up Midi studio/monitor on the MBP and click rescan midi devices for it to pull it back up.  Just thought this may help someone in the future.

When I tried to connect mofx to Mainstage via USB, my Mac didn’t even see it! I would scan for devices...nothing. Reboot...nothing.  Like it didn’t even exist. The midi setting was set to USB. What am I doing wrong?
