I need to be able to play a D4-D5 octave tubular bell sound with a footswitch that will instantaneously play when I press the footswitch again.

I tried recording a pattern with a 1/4 measure with the octave played on the first beat. When I press the footswitch it will start playback, but if I let it keep going it will loop. That’s fine, I can manually stop it. But if I press the footswitch again to stop all is well until I go to to press the footswitch to trigger the bells again. It acts more like a pause than a stop, picking up in the middle of a 4/4 measure wherever I last stopped it. I have never used sequencing directly on a synth before so I’m sure I’m missing something simple. Hopefully this makes sense and someone can help.

Thank you!
